     * The Seattle Open Composition Project *

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, Musicians Emeritus Symphony Orchestra (MESO) will perform a composition

of the people, by the people, for the people.
Just what do you mean?

In the past, composers such as Beethoven or Tchaikovsky wrote their music based on their feelings and experiences.  Take part in the Open Composition Project and YOU, the concert-goer, will compose for the first time a piece that we will perform next season.

The theme is Seattle, what this city has meant to you, what you mean to the city, and the good, the bad, and even the ugly memories you associate with the Emerald City.  You can convey all of these in a series of .jpeg images that you can send to us: sfoseattle@gmail.com with "Open Composition" in the subject line.  If words are your forte, write a paragraph or two in an email to the same address.  Communicate to us the feelings, experiences, and memories that Seattle evokes in you and a composer will sort through all of your emails and translate them into an 8-10 minute "Overture to Seattle!".

Be Creative.  Be Expressive!  Welcome to the world of Classical Music!
